Our Association was formed in 1978 but at the July 2005 Conference Annual General Meeting in Palmerston North it was resolved to wind up Smallfarming NZ. Although greatly regretted, this was necessary given the decline in membership, which has made the running of the Association, including the production of The Smallfarmer, unsustainable.

The Final wind up Conference and Celebration of 28 years as an Association has taken place in Masterton over the weekend of 13/14 May 2006.

With over 70 past and present members attending it was a time to reminisce the great times and hard work done in the early days of establishing the Association.
